SWCDM’s Watershed Restoration Planning program assists conservation districts and watershed groups in developing and supporting Watershed Restoration Plans (WRPs). A WRP is a document that identifies restoration opportunities within a watershed and outlines a coordinated, long-term plan of action to benefit the overall health of the watershed. Once a WRP is written for a watershed, it becomes eligible to receive CWA Section 319 Funding from the EPA.
To learn about the components of a WRP, more information can be found at the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) WRP page. A Watershed Restoration Plan document-writing guide developed by Ethan Kunard of the Madison Conservation District is also available here.
