Kaitlyn had her love and appreciation for the outdoors and environmental conservation cultivated at an early age hailing as a 5th generation Butte, Montanan. After receiving a B.S. in Biochemistry and Nutritional Science from Montana State University in 2015, she worked as a naturalist in Glacier National Park, educating kids and adults on watershed ecology, ornithology, and botany. She then worked two seasons with raptors in Duluth, MN, as a naturalist for Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory. Afterward, was able to meld her two passions for birds and watershed science together through projects for the University of Montana Bird Ecology Lab (UMBEL). Kaitlyn is incredibly thankful and excited for this opportunity to be a Big Sky Watershed Corps Member. Knowing that knowledge is the key to changing our world, she is ready to educate and excite the next environmental stewards of our watersheds. When she is not working with birds, you can find her birding (of course), running, swimming, skiing or hiking!
