Mikaela was born and raised in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where she learned to appreciate the natural world we reside in. Through this passion and desire to travel, she attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. Post-graduation provided Mikaela with experience involving opportunities to work with salmon stream restoration in Washington and mine reclamation water monitoring projects in Colorado, directing her to a passion in the hydrology field. During her free time, Mikaela focuses on exploring new places through hiking, skiing, backpacking and climbing, while also enjoying reading, cooking and creative art projects.
